Edmonds Marsh Wetlands
'Wetlands', … Over the last few years since retiring, I have re-acquainted myself with these unique Pacific Northwest ecosystems. For one they can be accessed fairly easily and contain a enormous quantity of photographic subjects, flowers, landscapes, environments, and of course abundant wildlife. Also called Earth's kidneys, wetlands are dynamic and unique environments. Found all over the world, wetlands come in many different types and serve a variety of important functions. Wetlands can be Tidal or Non-Tidal areas, here is the Pacific Northwest we have an abundant tidal marsh but also due to recent urban growth designs and much needed EPA protections, more and more urban areas have non tidal wetlands right next store. Most of these images are from the Edmonds Marsh Wetlands within the City of Edmonds,WA
