Edmonds Marsh Wetlands 2024
A lot of local activity is occurring at the Edmonds Marsh Estuary, though lately its within WA DOT and Edmonds Council offices deciding its fate. Whether changes can be enabled to protect and bring this estuary back to what it once was, is under study. This critical project envisions protecting this wildlife habitat and providing direct sustainable access to the Puget Sound for migrating salmon and trout. I visit this wetland quite often in all types of weather each year to capture on film (digital) the changing landscape and wildlife visitors. I always can find migrating Canada Geese and many species of waterfowl and of course large population of Great Blue Herons and usually an Eagle or two, call the wetland home, some are transit but many species some call it home. Hope the City of Edmonds and the WA DOT can sort out in 2024 to protect this limited wetland for future residents and visitors. For more update on this critical wetland visit 'Edmonds Marsh Estuary Project' at https://www.edmondsmarshestuary.org/ and let them hear you please.

Penny Creek Natural Area, Mill Creek, WA - 2024
The Penny Creek Natural Area (a wetland wildlife perserve, in Mill Creek, WA) is a unique wetland among urban sprawls. Created as a mitigation area of 'The Farm', this wetland covers roughly 58 acres of natural wetlands and urban filtration zones. A gravel path runs along the entire length of the biggest pond or lake easy to walk, not so much for handicapped visitors due to the gravel. But you'll see many types of birds and migrating duck. Usually, a few Great Blue Heron are residents, and river otters and beavers roam the wetlands. It's a nice place to visit and close to Mill Creek and Snohomish neighborhoods. Go Enjoy!

Captured a Double-crested Cormorant along the Edmonds Waterfront, it dove for a new meal only to discover it was a rock! It spits it out at bottom right last photo. Ha!
